Seattle Cop Leaves Police Force After Two Decades Because ‘Criminals Are Running This City’
A Seattle police officer has given her letter of resignation after 23 years of service—and she doesn’t mince words when it comes to her reasons for leaving.
Lieutenant Jessica Taylor sent a scathing message to Democratic officials, admonishing them for Seattle’s downfall. Instead of filling out the standard exit paperwork, Taylor opted to send letters to Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz, Mayor Bruce Harrell and the Seattle City Council. It was then that she gave the far-left leaders a stern reproach.
The Blistering 15-Page-Long Letter
Without the threat of losing her job, Lieutenant Jessica Taylor was able to finally speak her mind without holding back. “This will be a brutally long letter, but after 23+ years, I have a few things to say,” she began.
Taylor even took special measures to get around the department’s methods of just tossing her note aside. “Each page is initialized so no one can do the typical SPD ‘I don’t know what happened. It just automatically deleted’ routine,” she wrote.
Describing Seattle as “Anarchy” and “Chaos”
Taylor stated that the city of Seattle has become nothing more than anarchy and chaos, before laying into the toxicity of the Seattle Police Department.
She described her dissatisfaction with the police force she loyally served for more than two decades, calling it “nothing more than a circus, with boisterous clowns running amok.” But the insults hardly stopped there. She also called her department “soul draining” before criticizing others responsible for Seattle’s lack of law and order.
The City Council and Mayor Were Also Panned
Taylor then took aim at the Seattle City Council, calling it “absurd” and deeming the mayor as “spineless.” The retired Lieutenant eviscerated every person responsible for the sad condition of Seattle.
She added, “The toxic mix of the Seattle City Council’s absurdity, the spinelessness of the mayor, the leniency of the prosecutor’s office, and your failed leadership has accelerated this city’s downhill slide straight to rock bottom.”
Condemning Seattle’s Police Chief
Unafraid of consequence and unapologetic of her stance, Taylor went on to attack Seattle’s Police Chief. “Chief Diaz, let me tell you, the state of the Seattle Police Department and this city is a disgrace,” she wrote.
Taylor seemed to have particular disdain for her superior, telling him, “You willingly became a puppet, a spineless “yes man,” perfectly willing to throw the entire department under the bus to achieve your coveted spot as chief, complete with a fancy corner office.”
Further Berating Her Former Boss
Taylor’s words for the police chief may seem harsh, but she was just getting started. “Your approach reeks of a desperate hunger for control rather than genuine understanding and respect for the autonomy of our officers,” she said in her letter.
“Your controlling, bullying, and gaslighting tendencies have wreaked havoc on this department, driving away talented and dedicated officers.” She also called Chief Diaz a “vindictive, power-hungry individual” before admitting she had zero trust in him.
Claiming That Criminals Have Taken Over Seattle
Lieutenant Jessica Taylor really laid into the notion that criminals have taken over the city she once loved.
“Absurd policies have turned Seattle into a playground for anarchists and criminals, and they seem utterly unconcerned with the devastating consequences of their actions,” she said. She blamed city officials for allowing crime and illegal activity to thrive in Seattle, saying, “If you haven’t noticed, the criminals are running this city.”
According to Taylor, Everyone Thinks Seattle Is a Joke
Taylor could no longer stand to be part of a police department that refuses to restore order in the city. She even mentioned that everyone looks down on Seattle due to its poorly run condition.
“It’s no wonder Seattle has become a laughingstock of the nation and the globe,” she said.“They are laughing about us on the international news…The city that once prided itself on progressiveness and prosperity has now become a hotbed for crime and anarchy.”
Taking More Digs at the Seattle PD
Taylor really let out years of pent up aggression on her former department. She expressed her concerns for the force, saying, “SPD is dangerously understaffed, and the officers and their families are suffering.”
She also added that the working hours are “ruthlessly long” and “unsafe.” She deemed the circumstances “unacceptable” before adding that “Seattle deserves better” than the deplorable leadership it currently has.
Showing No Remorse About Her Letter
The retired officer has no regrets about her scathing letter, insisting she “wanted to go out with the truth.” Lieutenant Taylor stood up for what she believes in while trying to save Seattle from debauchery and despair.
She ended her statement by saying, “You offered me an opportunity for an honest exit interview, and here it is. I will always stand up for what’s right and what I believe in…even if I am standing alone.”
