The COVID-19 pandemic has affected lives and businesses worldwide. The banking industry was also affected by the pandemic. In response to the pandemic, different banks and financial institutions have adjusted their business hours and protocols for transactions. Some branches have closed while those that stayed open reduced their business hours.
What is PNC Bank?
PNC is short for Pittsburgh National Corporation and Provident National Corporation, two banks merged in 1983 in Pennsylvania. Before the merger, each bank had its share of different markets. The merger of the two banks created the largest bank in Pennsylvania.
As of 2020, the PNC Bank has more than $400 billion in assets and operated across 37 states. PNC Bank serves an estimated 8 million clients and small businesses. In 2020, the PNC Bank was part of the list of the best national banks in America partly due to its impressive 0.01% saving APY.
PNC Banking Hours
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the banking hours of the PNC Bank will vary depending on the individual branch. If you are planning to transact at a particular branch, it is best to check online to verify their banking hours.
Banking Hours for Normal Days
Most PNC branches have banking hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, most branches will extend their hours up to 6 p.m. to accommodate the influx of customers that may want to have money during the weekends. Other branches close early and have banking hours only up to 4 p.m. For branches with heavy client traffic, they may open each weekday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Most branches do not open during the weekends. However, some branches are open on Saturdays only until noon. This will allow clients who were busy during the weekdays to transact with the bank during their free time. In almost all cases, PNC branches do not open on a Sunday except for branches located in giant food stores or malls.
Banking Outside of Business Hours
If you need to transact with your bank outside of regular business hours, there are a few options for you to use. If you need to withdraw money, there are many PNC Bank ATMs that you can use. Likewise, ATMs outside of PNC branches may be used to deposit checks and cash. You can also use the ATM to change your PIN or transfer funds from one PNC account to another.
Another option is to use PNC’s mobile banking app, which will provide you with the same services you can get from any ATM. You may also use your mobile banking app to make bill payments.
You may also call PNC customer service. There is an automated customer service you can call at any hour of the day. If you want to speak to a live customer representative, they are available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. during weekdays.
