What woman would not want to spend time in a spa and get pampered the whole day? However, a day at a spa is expensive and will take the whole day. Most working women cannot squeeze in a day of pampering in their busy schedules. Nevertheless, this does not mean that you cannot pamper yourself during the day. Here are small ways to pamper yourself even on your busiest day.
Pamper Your Hands. Your hands are an important aspect of your workday. Allot at least 30 minutes of your day give yourself a manicure. You can either do this in the morning or in the evening while watching TV or calling with friends. Doing your manicure will let you focus on your nails, blocking out any thoughts of work or how your day went. Likewise, you can pamper your hands by slathering them with lotion or petroleum-based moisturizers and covering them with a pair of soft gloves overnight. You will wake up with baby-smooth and well-manicured hands.
Pamper Your Feet. Your feet would need to be rested especially if you spent the whole workday wearing high heels. You may soak your feet in a bucket of warm water mixed with Epsom salt and essential oils to relieve any foot pain, hydrate and heal dry and cracked ankles. You can soak your feet while watching tv or eating dinner. Just be sure to keep a towel on the floor next to your feet to dry them after the soak.
Pamper Your Senses. You can pamper your sense of smell by lighting a scented candle or an aromatherapy lamp. Different essential oils have different effects in making the body relax. Lavender, for example, is a scent that can help you sleep better. Jasmine may ease the feeling of depression, while the scent of apples can relieve headaches or symptoms of migraines.
Indulge in Comfort Food. Eating comfort food will improve your mood by taking you back to memories of your childhood where you are surrounded by people who make you feel safe, loved, and secure.
Make Yourself Sleep Better. Soaking in a warm bath with Epsom salt and essential oil will also relax the tightened muscles of your back from a day in an airconditioned office. Soaking in a warm bath will also help you sleep better and get more REM or deep sleep. You will feel rejuvenated when you wake up.
Turn Off All Communication Devices. Another simple way of pampering yourself is to set a schedule where you turn off all your communication devices such as your mobile phones and your computer. This will enable you to focus on yourself without having your boss or workmates call or text with last-minute work matters. Take this time to detoxify yourself from all the technology that you had to work with the whole day. Read a good book to pamper your mind.
Pampering yourself does not necessarily mean spending a day at a spa. With these small ways, you can pamper yourself regularly even during your busiest day.
