Zachery Ty Bryan, well known for his role as Brad in the show Home Improvement, was arrested in 2020 for criminal strangulation following an altercation with his girlfriend, Johnnie. However, Bryan believes the incident was greatly exaggerated.

According to the actor, their conflict was mostly characterized by loud debate rather than physical violence. He claims that the charges were fabricated in order to force him to accept a plea bargain.
Bryan Pleads Guilty
Despite initially disputing the allegations, Bryan finally decided to plead guilty to menacing and fourth-degree assault. Reflecting on his decision, he realized that while he could have fought the allegations, doing so would have added additional stress and drama to his life.

Later, in September 2020, Bryan filed for divorce from Matros, using a divorce announcement similar to that of Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers—he even admitted copying it.
